Rail3D Coordinate System
Positions in Rail3D are specified by X,Y coordinates in metres. X (Easting) and Y (Northing) can range from 0 to approximately 660 000m.
The Rail3D environment is a purely Cartesian space, which doesn’t take any account of the curvature of the earth. This means that you can use maps in any arbitrary 2-d coordinate system as the basis for your layout. You only need to worry about geo-referencing if you want to combine data from sources in different coordinate systems (e.g. maps and DEM.)
