DEM

Digital Elevation Model — a term used for collections of terrain elevation data in computer-readable form. dem data is available from various mapping agencies, although good quality data outside the usa tends to be expensive. You can import terrain data from a dem into Rail3D, but normally you will first have to transform the data into the Rail3D Coordinate System.
